Watercolour paintings go on display
ARTWORK produced by the Peterborough branch of the University of the Third Age (U3A) is currently on display at a city art gallery this month.
A wide variety of work by the group’s watercolour class are on display at the City Gallery in Shrewsbury Avenue until May 26.
A spokeswoman for the gallery said: “The group is a section of the Peterborough branch of the U3A and will be exhibiting over 40 pieces of artwork, all will be for sale at very affordable prices.
“The group currently have about fifty members each with a wide range of experience ranging from complete beginners to those who display and sell their work on a regular basis.”
The group meets on Friday afternoons at St Andrew’s Church Hall in Peterborough.
Guidance with demonstrations is provided, but the main emphasis is on providing encouragement rather conventional teaching.
Tutor Bob Frank said: “The main objective is for everyone to enjoy painting.”
