Green garden advice on offer at centre

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Councilelections -

GARDENERS can get hints and tips on how to keep their lawn green during the hosepipe ban at a garden centre.

Dobbies Garden Centre in Hampton will be holding gardening advice sessions tomorrow, to help green-fingered residents make the most of their garden this summer.

Beat The Drought will be part of Dobbies’ ongoing Garden Grow-how series of talks which take place every Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 2pm.

The talks cover a wide range of gardening topics, including everything from how to grow vegetables in a window box to planting the perfect hanging basket.

Tony Cuthbert, general manager at Dobbies Garden World, said: “The temporary ban on hosepipes does not prohibit gardening, nor does it stop below using water in their garden.

“We felt that a huge amount of advice currently available to the public is about what gardeners can’t do during the ban, so our Beat the Drought talks are intended to show them what they can do.”
