Chair­man is elected for coun­cil

A NEW chair­man and vice chair­man has been wel­comed to South Kesteven Dis­trict Coun­cil.

The coun­cil, which runs ser­vices for peo­ple liv­ing in Stam­ford, Bourne and the Deep­ings, has said farewell to out­go­ing chair­man Cllr Mike Cook and wel­comed its new chair­man Cllr Rose­mary Kaber­ryBrown and vice chair­man Cllr David Nal­son fol­low­ing a vote at a full coun­cil meet­ing on May 3.

Dur­ing her term, Cllr Kaber­ryBrown has said she will work to raise money for her nom­i­nated char­i­ties the Lin­colnshire and Not­ting­hamshire Air Am­bu­lance and the Gran­tham and Sleaford Macmil­lan Nurses.

Dur­ing the meet­ing on May 3 the coun­cil leader and port­fo­lio holder for pol­icy, strat­egy and strate­gic part­ner­ships Coun­cil­lor Linda Neal and the deputy leader and port­fo­lio holder for gov­er­nance and com­mu­ni­ca­tion Coun­cil­lor Paul Car­pen­ter were re-elected to their re­spec­tive roles.

Coun­cil­lors Terl Bryant, Frances Cartwright, John Smith and Mike Tay­lor were con­firmed as port­fo­lio hold­ers in the coun­cil’s cab­i­net.
