Chairman is elected for council
A NEW chairman and vice chairman has been welcomed to South Kesteven District Council.
The council, which runs services for people living in Stamford, Bourne and the Deepings, has said farewell to outgoing chairman Cllr Mike Cook and welcomed its new chairman Cllr Rosemary KaberryBrown and vice chairman Cllr David Nalson following a vote at a full council meeting on May 3.
During her term, Cllr KaberryBrown has said she will work to raise money for her nominated charities the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and the Grantham and Sleaford Macmillan Nurses.
During the meeting on May 3 the council leader and portfolio holder for policy, strategy and strategic partnerships Councillor Linda Neal and the deputy leader and portfolio holder for governance and communication Councillor Paul Carpenter were re-elected to their respective roles.
Councillors Terl Bryant, Frances Cartwright, John Smith and Mike Taylor were confirmed as portfolio holders in the council’s cabinet.
