Murder and blackmail on express
SPEND an evening in a Sherlock Holmes murder mystery at an event on a steam train near Peterborough.
Budding detectives can step back in time to 1895 and see the indefatigable Holmes at work with his loyal friend Dr Watson on the Orton Express at the Nene Valley Railway on May 26.
The evening will start at Wansford Station at 6.45pm with the murder mystery unfolding during the course of a three-course meal on the train as it makes a 15-mile journey to Peterborough Station and back.
A spokesman for the railway said: “Step back in time to 1895. Step back and become involved in a story of blackmail and in events leading to murder.
“And who better to expose the foul perpetrator than Mr Sherlock Holmes aided by his loyal friend Dr Watson, who will be joining you on the Orton Express during the course of your 15-mile steam-hauled journey.”
The Murder Mystery wine and dine ticket costs £32.50 per head and is suitable for over 18s only, which includes a complimentary glass of strawberry sparkle or fruit juice and three-course meal.
