Gl­itzy ball to cel­e­brate sum­mer

A SO­CIAL club is hop­ing to start an an­nual tra­di­tion with a black tie sum­mer ball.

Deep­ing Sports and So­cial Club is hold­ing the first event of its kind at its base in Out­gang Road, Mar­ket Deep­ing.

The club will erect a mar­quee in the grounds with room for 200 peo­ple .

he mar­quee will be at­tached to the main bar and the func­tion room of the club al­low­ing all the space to be used for the sum­mer ball.

The 200 guests at the event will be sat down for a de­li­cious three-course meal.

Dur­ing the evening the band The Kom­mit­ments will en­ter­tain through­out the night.

The 10-piece band will be per­form­ing pop­u­lar songs from the 1991 film The Com­mit­ments about The Hard­est Work­ing Band in the world.

They will be joined later by Michael Dean, known as The Box, to pro­vide the ul­ti­mate disco ex­pe­ri­ence.

Or­gan­iser Sharon Paul said: “The re­sponse from the lo­cal com­mu­nity has been good and it is in­tended that the ball be­comes an an­nual event.”

The gl­itzy night will also see a silent auc­tion and tombola with pro­ceeds go­ing to Parkin­sons UK Bourne Branch and Deep­ing Men’s Group. Party go­ers will be able to en­joy a Cham­pagne and wine bar as well as cask beers.

The glam­ourous evening is on Satur­day, June 23 and doors open at 6pm with guests sit­ting down for din­ner at 7pm.
