Art group mem­bers show­case their tal­ents

TAL­ENTED mem­bers of a lo­cal art group had the chance to show­case their abil­i­ties at an ex­hi­bi­tion in Peter­bor­ough.

Stu­dents of Glyn’s Art for Life group dis­played their work at their reg­u­lar meet­ing place of Pas­ton and Gun­thorpe Com­mu­nity Cen­tre, in Hall­fields Lane, Gun­thorpe, re­cently.

The Mayor of Peter­bor­ough Cllr Paula Thacker opened the event, which also in­cluded work by an­other Glyn’s Art for Life group run in Whit­tle­sey.

Cllr Thacker praised the stan­dard of the work, hav­ing bought four ex­hibits her­self.

She said: “It was won­der­ful.”

The work on show in­cluded wa­ter­colours, acrylics, oils and pas­tels, but also pho­tog­ra­phy.

Tu­tor Glyn Plumb de­clared the event a suc­cess and con­grat­u­lated the artists for their achieve­ments. She said: “It went very well. “I was very pleased and proud of them as well.”

She added: “It was very well at­tended. We sold more pic­tures then we nor­mally do.”

The group meets on Mon­days at the Pas­ton and Gun­thorpe Com­mu­nity Cen­tre.
