Royal Mail an­nounce de­liv­ery of­fice change

ROYAL Mail bosses have an­nounced that Ram­sey De­liv­ery Of­fice will be re­lo­cat­ing to Hunt­ing­don later this month.

The an­nounce­ment was made yes­ter­day that the of­fice in Whyte­field Road, Ram­sey, will close and staff move to the Hunt­ing­don De­liv­ery Of­fice, in St Peters Road, Hunt­ing­don on Mon­day, May 21.

The firm has said that there will not be any com­pul­sory re­dun­dan­cies made as a re­sult of the move and staff will be re­im­bursed for any ex­tra mileage in­curred as a re­sult of the change in their place of work.

Royal Mail’s col­lec­tion and de­liv­ery sec­tor man­ager, Dun­can Stephen­son said: “We have been talk­ing to our peo­ple about the move, as we must mod­ernise our op­er­a­tions.

“The re­lo­ca­tion of Ram­sey is part of this, al­low­ing us to place the busi­ness on a sound, se­cure and sta­ble foot­ing. Our ser­vice to cus­tomers will con­tinue to be a top pri­or­ity dur­ing these changes.

“Cus­tomers can be re­as­sured that we will do all we can to min­imise dis­rup­tion and en­sure we main­tain the high level of ser­vice they ex­pect and de­serve from Royal Mail.”

Ram­sey cus­tomers who are no­ti­fied they have an item to col­lect will be able to col­lect it from Ram­sey Post Of­fice, in Whyte­field Road, free of charge which is open from 8.30am to 5.30pm on Mon­days, 9am to 5.30pm Tues­days to Fri­days and 9am to 3pm on Satur­days.

Cus­tomers with PO Boxes or cus­tom charges to pay will need to go to Hunt­ing­don de­liv­ery of­fice whose open­ing hours are 8am to 1pm on Mon­days, Tues­days, Thurs­days and Fri­days, 8am to 8pm on Wed­nes­days and 8am to noon on Satur­days.
