BY the end of the 19th century, most towns had their own fire brigades, with fire engines and steam-powered pumps.
These men would have been part of the crew committed to tackling blazes in the centre of Peterborough, during the early part of the 20th century.
I wonder which one of them was the driver? Do you know if any of these old engines are still around in Peterborough? Perhaps there is a collection somewhere?
