Burglars target vulnerable women
TWO elderly woman were targeted by burglars in what police have called “despicable crimes”.
The first happened at 11.45am on Tuesday in Blossom Court, Bretton, Peterborough, when a man knocked on the door of an 82-year-old woman’s home before getting in through the back door.
He stole a leather handbag and purse, cash, bank cards and some medication.
The burglar is described as white, aged 16 to 20, wearing dark clothes and riding a black and white mountain bike.
Then, at 7.40pm on Tuesday, in Larch Grove, Dogsthorpe, a man pushed past a 99-year-old woman who opened the door to him.
He stole her purse, which contained cash, before running off.
The burglar is described as white, aged 18 to 20, tall, slim and with black hair. He wore a blue jumper and grey trousers. Police are not linking the burglars.
DS Dave Taylorsaid: “These are despicable crimes in which elderly and vulnerable people have been deliberately targeted.”
