A cracking weekend for Palmer
PETERBOROUGH F2 Stock Car driver Andrew Palmer showed glimpses of the form which made him the most feared driver on shale ovals when he managed two top three final places in as many days at the weekend.
Firstly he finished runner-up to Spalding’s Carl Issitt in the meeting final at the Norfolk Arena in King’s Lynn and then followed it up the day after with a third place finish in the meeting final at Sheffield which was won by Sam Wagner (Middlesborough).
Gareth Flatters (Peterborough) made his return to action in the 2L Bangers at King’s Lynn and was challenging for the lead in both his heats but was thwarted with mechanical problems.
Best local banger performance of the night came from another Peterborough driver Jamie Nottingham, who finished second in the final to Andy Ashman (Colchester).
Lee Green (Wisbech) was dominant in the 1300 Stock Cars as he took four wins out of four races and led home a Wisbech 1-2-3 in the final with brothers Dean and Shane Moat completing the top three.
Jodie Grief (Whittlesey) finished seventh in the British Ladies Championship banger final.
Stock Car and Banger Racing returns to the Norfolk Arena on Saturday May 19.
