A crack­ing week­end for Palmer

PETER­BOR­OUGH F2 Stock Car driver An­drew Palmer showed glimpses of the form which made him the most feared driver on shale ovals when he man­aged two top three final places in as many days at the week­end.

Firstly he fin­ished run­ner-up to Spald­ing’s Carl Is­sitt in the meet­ing final at the Nor­folk Arena in King’s Lynn and then fol­lowed it up the day af­ter with a third place fin­ish in the meet­ing final at Sh­effield which was won by Sam Wag­ner (Mid­dles­bor­ough).

Gareth Flat­ters (Peter­bor­ough) made his re­turn to ac­tion in the 2L Bangers at King’s Lynn and was chal­leng­ing for the lead in both his heats but was thwarted with me­chan­i­cal prob­lems.

Best lo­cal banger per­for­mance of the night came from an­other Peter­bor­ough driver Jamie Not­ting­ham, who fin­ished sec­ond in the final to Andy Ash­man (Colch­ester).

Lee Green (Wis­bech) was dom­i­nant in the 1300 Stock Cars as he took four wins out of four races and led home a Wis­bech 1-2-3 in the final with broth­ers Dean and Shane Moat com­plet­ing the top three.

Jodie Grief (Whit­tle­sey) fin­ished sev­enth in the Bri­tish Ladies Cham­pi­onship banger final.

Stock Car and Banger Rac­ing re­turns to the Nor­folk Arena on Satur­day May 19.
