Bor­ough cho­sen to host RFU sum­mer camp

THE Rugby Foot­ball Union have cho­sen Peter­bor­ough Rugby Club as a venue for one of their Player De­vel­op­ment Camps dur­ing the sum­mer hol­i­days.

The camp is aimed at play­ers in the un­der 11 to un­der 16 age groups and will be run by level two and three-qual­i­fied coaches and coach ed­u­ca­tors ap­pointed by the RFU.

There will be camps for un­der 11 and un­der 12 play­ers on Au­gust 6 and 7, and for play­ers in age groups from un­der 13 to un­der 16 on Au­gust 9 and 10.

The camp will en­sure that all the play­ers have the op­por­tu­nity to im­prove their in­di­vid­ual and po­si­tional skills and game ap­pre­ci­a­tion tech­niques ahead of next sea­son.

The core el­e­ments of the game will be cov­ered in­clud­ing han­dling tech­niques, body man­age­ment in con­tact, the tackle and dom­i­nat­ing the tackle area, con­ti­nu­ity and decision-mak­ing.

Play­ers should ar­rive at each venue at 9am changed and ready to start the first ses­sion at 9.30am. The camps will fin­ish at 3.30pm each day.
