Young­sters blos­som in Spald­ing’s Tulip Open

HANNA Jask­iewicz, Amelia Mon­aghan and El­liotte Ledger were City of Peter­bor­ough Swim­ming Club’s lead­ing lights at thetulip Open.

All three of them won their re­spec­tive age group com­pe­ti­tions at Spald­ing over the Bank Hol­i­day week­end.

Jask­iewicz won the 100m breast­stroke, freestyle and back­stroke, and fin­ished sec­ond in the 100m but­ter­fly, to lead the way in the 11-year-old girls’ age sec­tion.

Mon­aghan was a con­vinc­ing win­ner in the nine-year-old girls’ 50m breast­stroke, freestyle and back­stroke, while El­liotte Ledger also won three of his four races to fin­ish in top spot in the over­all nine-year-old boys’ stand­ings.

Oth­ers to shine were Maddy Far­ley (12) who was sec­ond in the 100m freestyle, Holly Jask­iewicz (10) who was sec­ond in the 100m but­ter­fly and third in the 100m back­stroke and breast­stroke and Poppy Ludgate (9) who was third in the 50m breast­stroke.
