Man guilty of harassment
A “LONELY” man has been given a two-year restraining order preventing him from contacting a woman to whom he sent a series of texts and Facebook messages.
Stephen Harvey (34), of Wisbech Road, March, started to contact the woman after befriending her.
Initially the messages were not offensive but after a while he sent the woman a text saying that he “wanted to tie her up”.
Harvey appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to harassment without violence.
Harvey was given a two-year restraining order preventing him from contacting the woman and a conditional discharge for 18 months. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs.
Rebecca Keogh, defending, said: “He is a lonely person who realises the distress caused by pursuing this woman.”
