Inmate used phone watch in his cell
A PRISONER who was caught using a mobile phone watch in his cell has been ordered to serve a further two months in jail.
Jody Stones (27), who is a prisoner at Peterborough Prison, was caught using the watch on April 13 after officers heard him talking in his single-man cell.
Stones, who had a year left to serve on a four-year jail sentence for a house burglary, appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to possessing an unauthorised item.
Julie Murtagh, defending, said that Stones had been using the watch for four weeks before being caught.
She said that he had bought the device to keep in contact with his family after his grandmother became seriously ill.
Stones, who is due to be released in May 2013, was ordered to serve a further two months in prison for the offence.
