Dance the night away at ceilidh

CHAR­ITY fundrais­ers can dance the night away to help save lives at a ceilidh.

The tra­di­tional Gaelic evening will take place on Fri­day, May 18 at St Ni­cholas Church Hall in Church­gate, Spald­ing.

Dianne Vas­sallo is host­ing the event, which will in­clude live mu­sic, danc­ing and a plough­man’s sup­per, and will help raise money for the char­ity Kid­ney Re­search UK.

She said: “Most of my fam­ily have poly­cys­tic kid­neys and there is cur­rently no cure for kid­ney dis­ease.

“My mother had poly­cys­tic kid­neys and my chil­dren also have the con­di­tion, as it has been passed down through the gen­er­a­tions.

“It’s go­ing to be a great evening and ev­ery­one is wel­come.

“We want to raise as much money as pos­si­ble to help re­search aimed at find­ing a cure for kid­ney dis­ease.”

Tick­ets for the event, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £7.50.

Emma Long, fundrais­ing man­ager for Kid­ney Re­search UK, said: “Kid­ney dis­ease is a silent killer which threat­ens the lives of more than three mil­lion peo­ple in the UK alone. It can af­fect any­one of any age and can’t cur­rently be cured, which is why we need as much sup­port as pos­si­ble in or­der to con­tinue our work.”
