Dance the night away at ceilidh
CHARITY fundraisers can dance the night away to help save lives at a ceilidh.
The traditional Gaelic evening will take place on Friday, May 18 at St Nicholas Church Hall in Churchgate, Spalding.
Dianne Vassallo is hosting the event, which will include live music, dancing and a ploughman’s supper, and will help raise money for the charity Kidney Research UK.
She said: “Most of my family have polycystic kidneys and there is currently no cure for kidney disease.
“My mother had polycystic kidneys and my children also have the condition, as it has been passed down through the generations.
“It’s going to be a great evening and everyone is welcome.
“We want to raise as much money as possible to help research aimed at finding a cure for kidney disease.”
Tickets for the event, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £7.50.
Emma Long, fundraising manager for Kidney Research UK, said: “Kidney disease is a silent killer which threatens the lives of more than three million people in the UK alone. It can affect anyone of any age and can’t currently be cured, which is why we need as much support as possible in order to continue our work.”
