AN INTREPID group of staff from Nene Park Academy, who successfully scaled the UK’S three highest mountains, have been presented with this week’s Pride In Peterborough front page.

The staff from the school in Orton Longueville completed The Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds to help pupils to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme.

The challenge involved climbing the three highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland - Scafell Pike (978m), Snowdon (1,085m) and Ben Nevis (1,344m) - in 24 hours. The team, Abbie Mann, Amy Mellor, Steve Howard and Anthony Partington, were supported by Ivan Reed and Ashley Scott.

They faced snow and arctic conditions during the challenge.
