NON-LEAGUE: Two late goals helped Deeping to a 3-0 victory over Holbeach at Outgang Road last night.

David Burton-jones’ second goal of the night and a stoppage time strike from hotshot Josh Moreman gave Deeping a comfortable scoreline.

The hosts were much the better side in the opening half and took the lead on 28 minutes when Burton-jones converted Kevin Brader’s cross.

Holbeach improved after the break and Andytidswell - who had netted in a 1-1 draw at Daventry two days earlier - saw an effort cleared off the line while former Stamford star Lee Beeson twice tested keeper James Doughty from free-kicks.

But on 83 minutes, Nick Jackson’s free-kick found Matt Heron who set up Burton-jones for his second and Moreman completed the scoring in the fifth minute of stoppage time to make it 3-0.

The result leaves Deeping as the leading local side in the United Counties League in fourth place.
