Panthers hammered by in-form Hammers

SPEEDWAY: Panthers suffered a heavy 59-37 defeat at Elite League leaders Lakeside at the Arena Raceway last night.

Panthers had picked up at least a point on all of their previous travels this season but it proved a different story at Lakeside who had former Alwalton favourites Peter Karlsson and Lee Richardson in fine form.

Panthers were without skipper Kenneth Bjerre due to tonight’s Czech Grand Prix but they could hardly blame his absence as King’s Lynn number one and Panthers asset Niels Kristian Iversen proved an excellent replacement.

The Dane scored a tactical rideboosted 16 points with young gun Michael Jepsen Jensen the only other rider to impress with 11+1.

That tally was also boosted by a victory while wearing the black and white helmet.

Jepser B Monberg, expected to be a big asset at reserve, had a miserable night and could muster just a single point while Rene Bach lived up to his name and was at the back in all of his races.
