Pinchbeck complete the league and cup double

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Sport -

PINCHBECK United are basking in the glory of an ‘unreal’ Peterborough League honours double.

That’s the way player-manager Ian Dunn described a memorable campaign lit up by Premier Division title success to follow a first-ever PFA Senior Cup triumph. The successes have arrived in Dunn’s first season in the hotseat.

Pinchbeck wrapped up the league crown (their first for 20 years) by sinking sole challengers Kings Cliffe 4-2 in a top-of-the-table showdown on Saturday thanks to goals from Dan Woods, Tom Gosling, Dunn and Dan Maddison.

Dunn said: “To have had this much success so soon is unreal.

“It was a big relief to finish the job off on Saturday and great to win it in style by beating the second-placed team on their own patch.”
