Crash causes dis­rup­tion for mo­torists

MO­TORISTS in Peter­bor­ough suf­fered dis­rup­tion fol­low­ing a two-ve­hi­cle col­li­sion out­side a su­per­mar­ket in the city yes­ter­day morn­ing.

The crash hap­pened near Mor­risons in Lin­coln Road and was re­ported to Cam­bridgeshire po­lice just af­ter 10.45am.

It in­volved a white Iveco van and a sil­ver Peu­geot car.

The col­li­sion left the road par­tially blocked for more than 80 min­utes while re­cov­ery work took place.

It was not un­til 12.07pm the road be­came en­tirely clear for traf­fic again.

The East of Eng­land Am­bu­lance Ser­vice were called to the scene at 10.53am, ar­riv­ing five min­utes later.

A male, be­lieved to be 41, was taken by paramedics to Peter­bor­ough City Hospi­tal for treat­ment for mi­nor neck in­juries at about 11.35am.

Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses of the crash to con­tact them on 101.
