Clarke clinches an extra-time cup winner for Leverington Reserves

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Sport -

LEVERINGTON Reserves are fast becoming the cup kings of local football.

Shane Milner’s men lifted the Cambs Junior Challenge Cup last night with a dra- matic 3-2 extra-time triumph over Bassingbourn at Milton Road in Cambridge thanks to a late winner from Paul Clarke.

Tancel Ibrahim had earlier scored twice as the Fenland flyers followed up their local PFA Junior Cup triumph of last month with more silverware - and they’re not done yet.

Leverington are involved in the Peterborough League Divisiontwo play-offs this week and could still clinch promotion.

Milner said: “We’re over the moon to win two cups. It’s been a great season but finishing it off by winning promotion would make it a brilliant one.”

Tonight it’s the turn of Coates Reserves to chase county glory as they face Elsworth Sports in the Cambs Lower Junior Challenge Cup Final at Milton Road (kick-off 7.30pm).
