Newey set to take up a role with the UCL

PETER­BOR­OUGH League sec­re­tary Wendy Newey is to be­come the new sec­re­tary and trea­surer of the United Coun­ties League.

Newey will con­tinue in her cur­rent role while also re­plac­ing Nick Hay­cox who has stepped down from the UCL po­si­tions.

A joint state­ment from the two Chromasport & Tro­phies-back leagues con­firmed: “We see this ap­point­ment as a way of strength­en­ing the work­ing ar­range­ment be­tween the two leagues and will be ex­plor­ing ways in which we can work more closely in the fu­ture for the bet­ter­ment of lo­cal foot­ball.”

THE Peter­bor­ough League are lay­ing on a free sum­mer coach­ing ses­sion.

The July 7 event is be­ing run in con­junc­tion with Posh and lo­cal Get Into Foot­ball Of­fi­cer Dean Wat­son and will be staged on the 3G pitch at the Grange, May­ors Walk (10am to 2pm).

THE Peter­bor­ough & Dis­trict Ju­nior Al­liance League have called off their an­nual six-a-side tour­na­ment this week­end due to a short­age of en­tries.

A WOOD­STON Dy­namo Un­der 16 player has been banned for 35 days and fined £25 for vi­o­lent con­duct.

Hay­den Smart com­mit­ted the of­fence in a Peter­bor­ough & Dis­trict Youth League match against Glin­ton. His ban cov­ered the final week of last sea­son and is com­pleted from Au­gust 27 to Septem­ber 23.

Other Hunts FA dis­ci­plinary cases:

Ja­son Cook (Stil­ton) - three­match Satur­day foot­ball sus­pen­sion and £25 fine for vi­o­lent con­duct.

John O’neill (Ram­sey) - twom­atch Satur­day foot­ball sus­pen­sion and £15 fine for de­lib­er­ately deny­ing a goalscor­ing op­por­tu­nity.

Luke Bon­ney (Powerleague AFC) - one-match Satur­day foot­ball sus­pen­sion and £15 fine for re­ceiv­ing two cau­tions in a match.

CROW­LAND Ju­niors are keen to at­tract teams to their two-day sum­mer tour­na­ment.

The event at the Snow­den Field will of­fer com­pe­ti­tion for all ages from Un­der 7 to Un­der 16 over the week­end of July 7 and 8.

Un­der 7 to Un­der 11 events will be on the Satur­day and played in a six-a-side for­mat while the older age groups will com­pete in five-aside the fol­low­ing day.

THE In­ter­na­tional Premier­tal­ent Academy is stag­ing a Whit­sun Soc­cer School in the area.

Their three-day event at Queens Park in Daim­ler Av­enue, Yax­ley runs from June 6 to 8 and is open to chil­dren aged be­tween 4 and 12.
