THE Queen’s Di­a­mond Ju­bilee cel­e­bra­tions next month mark 60 years since she came to the throne – even though her ac­ces­sion took place on Fe­bru­ary 6, 1952, not June.

Her Coro­na­tion was on June 2, but not un­til 195 .

The Queen has be­come only the sec­ond UK monarch to mark 60 years on the throne.

Cel­e­bra­tions were pre­vi­ously held for her Sil­ver Ju­bilee in 1977 and Golden Ju­bilee in 2002.

The Di­a­mond Ju­bilee is be­ing cel­e­brated with a spe­cial ex­tended bank hol­i­day week­end from Satur­day, June 2, to Tues­day, June 5.
