Festival will be soul-full
A MUSIC festival is to be staged for the second year running at a Peterborough pub.
The Fenland Festival of Soul will be held at the Plough pub in Farcet Fen next month.
Landlord Colin Harrison, said: “Last year’s inaugural event proved to be a great success and a real testament to the enduring popularity and current massive resurgence in interest of soul music.”
The festival will be held from June 15 to June 17 with the fun starting at 7pm on the Friday.
Performers include the Soft Tone Needles with support from a selection of DJS including Tony Dellar (Howard Mallett, Cambridge), John Bradley and Ady Bull.
There will be a seven-hour, non-stop stream of the best soul classics on day one. For Sunday’s finale event the music focus is jazz-funk and modern, with a 10-hour, non-stop session of club classics.
Mr Harrison said: “The festival will be a celebration of all that is great in soul music.”
