Fes­ti­val will be soul-full

A MU­SIC fes­ti­val is to be staged for the sec­ond year run­ning at a Peter­bor­ough pub.

The Fen­land Fes­ti­val of Soul will be held at the Plough pub in Farcet Fen next month.

Land­lord Colin Har­ri­son, said: “Last year’s in­au­gu­ral event proved to be a great suc­cess and a real tes­ta­ment to the en­dur­ing pop­u­lar­ity and cur­rent mas­sive resur­gence in in­ter­est of soul mu­sic.”

The fes­ti­val will be held from June 15 to June 17 with the fun start­ing at 7pm on the Fri­day.

Per­form­ers in­clude the Soft Tone Nee­dles with sup­port from a se­lec­tion of DJS in­clud­ing Tony Del­lar (Howard Mal­lett, Cam­bridge), John Bradley and Ady Bull.

There will be a seven-hour, non-stop stream of the best soul clas­sics on day one. For Sun­day’s fi­nale event the mu­sic fo­cus is jazz-funk and mod­ern, with a 10-hour, non-stop ses­sion of club clas­sics.

Mr Har­ri­son said: “The fes­ti­val will be a cel­e­bra­tion of all that is great in soul mu­sic.”
