Tulips receive a major financial boost
SPALDING have received a major financial boost in the shape of a five-figure sponsorship deal.
The ambitioustulips are to be backed by Front Door Properties - a Bourne-based company formed by Darren Jarvis, the co-boss of their United Counties League rivals, Blackstones, which has plans to expand into the town.
It follows hot on the heels of Spalding’s capture of Posh legend Marcus Ebdon to become boss Pat Rayment’s number two and the confirmation the club will remain at their current Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field base next season.
The stadium has been earmarked for demolition as part of a town centre revamp but they have been given the green light to continue there while pressing ahead with plans to develop a new ground on the outskirts of the town.
Thetulips have also forged a formal link with the thriving Spalding Athletic junior club that have teams from Under 6 to Under 18 level.
They will now also be known as Spalding United.
