Crash three weeks ago claims fourth victim
A HEAD-ON crash between a lorry and a people carrier has claimed its fourth victim more than three weeks after the incident. Great-grandfather Robert Reed, 75, of Houghton-le-spring, his grandson’s partner Natalie Simpson, 18, and her daughter Destiny, 14-months, died at the scene of the collision on Seaton Lane between Houghton-le-spring and Seaham, County Durham, on April 25. Mr Reed’s wife Margaret (74) was flown to James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, with serious injuries, and she died yesterday. The 42-year-old lorry driver, from Hetton-le-hole, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was bailed until the middle of next month.
