Woman hurt af­ter al­leged hit and run

A woman has been in­jured af­ter an al­leged hit and run col­li­sion in a town cen­tre.

The woman, who is in her 60s, was walk­ing in High Street, Wis­bech, near the branch of Shoe Zone at 10.50am yes­ter­day when the in­ci­dent hap­pened.

She was in­volved in an ac­ci­dent with a dark coloured car, thought to be a Volvo, which is then said to have driven away from the scene.

The woman was taken to the Queen El­iz­a­beth Hos­pi­tal in King’s Lynn, where her in­juries were not said to be se­ri­ous.

A man has been ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of dan­ger­ous driv­ing and fail­ing to stop af­ter a col­li­sion.
