Weekly street dance classes in full swing at Jack Hunt School
ASPIRING dancers have been invited to go along to new classes that have started up at the Jack Hunt School.
Instructors Kamal Hyman and Asha Daly-moore from The Movement Street Dance Academy will take youngsters aged between seven and 12 years of age through the moves as they pass on their top tips.
You do not have to be a pupil at the school to take part in the classes, which run on Wednesdays between 5.30pm and 6.30pm during term time.
They are held in the school canteen and cost just £3 per week.
Kamal said: “I feel that in order to become a successful person you must also be able to give back to people, the best way I personally believe this can be done is through teaching young people what I have learnt as a dancer.
“Dance is something that is open to anybody no matter what their academic ability is and that is one of the main things that inspires me to teach.
“As well as those who are very academic and look to create further options.”
Asha added: “I feel young people need that positive role model in their lives to understand that there is more to life than just video games, internet and fighting.
“I feel that we are the right people to do so we can also help to put the energy they use for negative things into something positive.”
