Remembering a Posh fan

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk&world Update -

IT’S 20 years since Peterborough’s first play-off successes against Huddersfield and Stockport, and many fans were proud of their involvement.

James Sly from Thorney wrote to us following the publication of this picture of Posh taking on the Terriers, as he wanted to mark the memory of a sports-loving relative.

James said: “I have circled my cousin Peter Sly, who both Bob French and Alan Swann knew well.

“He captained Spalding at both cricket and rugby, but sadly died in a farming accident in 1995. The ET wrote a very fitting tribute at the time.

“I was with him about two persons away too, there were three of us there at the time.”
