Don’t pollard during the nesting season

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Your -

OUR local authority is forever boasting about its efforts to be highly regarded as the most environmentally friendly city in the UK; point one.

Point two: Due to pesticides and the commercial destruction of habitats our bird population has taken a hammer- ing and is in serious decline, so can someone in the council explain to us why, right in the middle of the nesting season, the decision to pollard the row of trees alongside the Eye cemetery that is opposite the Sue Ryder shop?

This is unnecessarily costly to both the bird population and to the taxpayer.

So caring . . . poppycock!
