Bank holiday parking is a real put-off
THERE have been a number of concerns raised about parking at Peterborough Railway Station.
I would like to warn readers for the Jubilee Bank Holidays that, as I discovered on the last Bank Holiday, East Coast no longer reduce the charge for parking and so I had to pay £13, the normal rate for a working day.
This is completely different from the policy of most railway companies and is hardly likely to encourage use of the railway for leisure purposes.
It is £4 cheaper to park on the former Royal Mail site just next to the station and the best price, although it does involve a longer walk, seems to be at a city council long stay car park.
