Pair to con­test Yax­ley elec­tion af­ter coun­cil­lor res­ig­na­tion

YAX­LEY Parish Coun­cil will hold a by-elec­tion af­ter the res­ig­na­tion of for­mer coun­cil­lor Alan Bar­tle.

The vote will take place on Thurs­day, July 14 and will see two can­di­dates con­test for the po­si­tion - Gary Mold, of Wolse­ley Close, Yax­ley, and Mark Charles Oliver, of Broad­way, Yax­ley.

Mr Oliver is Hunt­ing­don­shire Dis­trict coun­cil­lor and had sat on Yax­ley Parish Coun­cil un­til last year, when he failed to get his in­tended nom­i­na­tion pa­pers for re-elec­tion in on time.

Yax­ley Parish Coun­cil spokesman said: “Due to a res­ig­na­tion, there is a va­cancy for a coun­cil­lor.

“An elec­tion for this va­cancy will be held on Thurs­day June 14.

“Nom­i­na­tions have now closed and a State­ment of Per­sons Nom­i­nated can be viewed on http://www. hunt­ing­don­shire.gov.uk.”
