Peterborough Town v Bourne, Bretton Gate (6.15pm)

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Etbusiness Daily -

THESE two teams have won the last three Jaidka Cups between them with tonight’s visitors to Bretton Gate seeking a hat-trick of titles.

Buttown will start favourites even though their own recent record in the Jaidka (the win in 2009 aside) has been poor. They lost in the first round to Wisbech last season.

Town reached the quarter-finals of the National Twenty/20 Cup last summer and played some fantastic cricket on the way and a repeat of that form would be enough against a Bourne side whose seam bowling attack is considerably weaker than 12 months ago. Key clash: Lewis Bruce v Pete Morgan. There is no classier batsman on the local scene than Bruce when he’s in full flow. And he hit prime form fortown and for Cambs over the weekend.

Bourne skipper Morgan can be destructive on his day and one of the bowlers he will attempt to dominate will be Bruce, an off-spinner with an excellent limited overs record.

Verdict: Town win a close game.
