New system to manage bursaries
STUDENTS who need financial help are set to benefit thanks to a new bursary management system at Peterborough Regional College (PRC).
The college has boosted its student support services by launching a new web-based tool to manage applications for its 16 to 18 bursaries.
The scrapping of the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) and introduction of the bursaries has meant all colleges are now responsible for bursary requests.
But PRC, like the majority of colleges, did not have the technology to efficiently manage them.
It has now implemented a system called INTUITION to help it make more informed decisions when a student needs financial help.
Anne Hornsby, the college’s customer support and information manager, said: “INTUITION will provide us with the ability to quickly and easily identify a student’s complete financial assistance history, and pinpoint individuals who need immediate help and those who should be referred to the welfare officer or other support services.”
