Residents would feel more secure with metal railings

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - YOUR TELEGRAPH -

READING your article regarding security in Buckthorn Road, where the fencing has been removed, was a blessing in disguise.

I have lived in this road for six years and there have been two attempted breakins into my home and the garage door has been forced.

Luckily, nothing was taken.

I have had two separate cases where hanging baskets and planters have been taken from the front of my property, and dog muck thrown over my car.

I now have security alarms fitted to my home and a security light attached to my garage.

I do think a continuation of metal rail fencing or something would be a deterrent for some of these attacks and create a sense of security for people’s homes.

We were led to believe six years ago that metal railings would replace the wooden fencing.
