LADIES look­ing to drop a dress size or two are in­vited to join a Stan­ground-based slim­ming group.

Slim­ming World meets ev­ery Thurs­day at Stan­ground Com­mu­nity Cen­tre, in Whit­tle­sey Road, at 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

Jo Mchat­tie, South Cam­bridgeshire dis­trict man­ager for Slim­ming World, said: “Slim­ming World of­fers an ex­tra easy eat­ing plan that is sim­ple to fol­low, easy to stick to and in­cludes healthy ver­sions of pop­u­lar foods such as fish and chips, cooked break­fasts and Sun­day roasts.

“There is no rea­son to ever feel hun­gry or de­prived on your weight loss jour­ney, and our meals fit in with the whole fam­ily.”

Jo added: “We have re­cently launched our Let’s Beat Obe­sity To­gether Cam­paign and it is fan­tas­tic to see record num­bers of new mem­bers join­ing us, with each and ev­ery­one of them com­mit­ted to mak­ing a pos­i­tive change.

“Just by los­ing 10 per cent of their body weight, mem­bers can start to see ben­e­fits in­clud­ing re­duced stress on joints, re­duced risk of di­a­betes and heart dis­ease and im­proved mood and self-es­teem.”
