The next steps towards business survival

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS -

NEXT Steps Business Success (NSBS) – a joint venture between digital marketing and communications agency Olsen Partnership and management consultancy Colin Grant Associates – has been set up to ensure the survival of small businesses in the region.

It is estimated that more than three quarters of new businesses fail in the first few years because they do not plan or seek the right advice, and following the closure of local Business Link, other than as a telephone support line, wouldbe entrepreneurs have lost a vital lifeline to help them launch their new business.

Next Steps Business Success, currently based in Peterborough, Stamford and Cambridge, aims to reduce this figure significantly by offering essential advice and guidance to help local small businesses and social enterprises succeed in the early days.

The initial

consultation is free and includes a shortterm action plan plus a 30-day telephone or email support line (during office hours) post the consultation to help individuals keep their action plan on track.

Colin Grant said: “Individuals who have struggled to find full-time employment in this current economic climate are encouraged to consider setting up their own business and while this may appear daunting, with our help and guidance this dream could become a reality.”

Richard Olsen, managing partner of the new venture, added: “Our team of experienced small business advisors will help individuals establish whether there is a market for their business idea and identify their customer base as well as how to develop a brand, manage their money and create a business plan.”
