Meeting to extend college age range
A PUBLIC meeting is being held at Hampton College for residents to share their views about proposals to extend the college’s age range.
Peterborough City Council is consulting on its proposals to extend the age range of pupils going to the college from 11 to 18 years old to four to 18 years old starting from September 2013.
The college, in Eagle Way, Hampton, Peterborough is hosting the public meeting at 6.30pm on Tuesday, May 26.
At the meeting, residents will hear a brief outline about the process involved in extending the age range as well as proposals to establish a new primary school on the college’s site.
After this they will be able to ask questions about the plans.
Jonathan Lewis, Peterborough City Council’s assistant director for education and resources, said: “The developments taking place in Hampton create a really positive move forward, allowing us as a council to offer more school places within Hampton.
“Oversubscription and an inability to cater for such numbers has put a real strain on resources. This is something that the extension of Hampton College will change considerably.
“I urge people to attend the public meeting and have your say to help us provide the best possible outcome for you, your children, your schools and the community.”
