Farewell to Looking Back

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Your -

the end of an era for me as I say goodbye to the Looking Back page and to The Evening Telegraph.

Sadly I am moving on to pastures new after more than a decade, in total, and various jobs including entertainment reporter, sub editor and feature writer.

I started work here as a freshfaced reporter in December 1997 and my present stint with the paper began in January 2004.

But before I go I want to say a big thank-you to you, the readers.

For more years than I care to remember I have been writing the Looking Back spread and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.

The page would have been nothing without your valuable contributions.

It’s been a pleasure to share your photographs and to listen to your wonderful memories.

From time to time I have also been able to reunite people with former friends and colleagues.

I have also learnt a great deal about the rich history of the city where I grew up.

But don’t worry, there will still be plenty of nostalgia in the new Peterborough Telegraph and Features Editor John Baker, would love to hear from you.

Send photographs and memories of Peterborough in days gone by to John Baker, The Evening Telegraph, 57 Priestgate, Peterborough, PE1 1JW or call 01733 588726.
