Wom­a­nis sex­u­ally as­saulted in al­ley­way

A woman was sex­u­ally as­saulted by a man as she walked through an al­ley­way.

Thein­ci­den­thap­pene­d­i­nan al­ley­way close to Huntingdon Re­gional Col­lege, in Huntingdon, atabout6.30pmonSun­day and­was­re­port­ed­topo­lice­later that evening.

Po­lice say the vic­tim, who was in her 40s, was walking along the al­ley­way when she was grabbed from be­hind and sex­u­ally as­saulted.

The at­tacker is de­scribed as hav­ing tanned skin, about six feet tall and is thought to have long hair.

Of­fi­cers have spent the past three days mak­ing in­quiries. Th­ese in­cluded searches in the area and­speak­ing to the vic­tim to get as much in­for­ma­tion as pos­si­ble.

As a pre­cau­tion, si nce Sun­day, pa­trols have been in- creased in the area.

Po­lice are now keen to hear fro­many­onewhomay­have­wit­nessed the in­ci­dent.

Det Insp Liz Mead said: “I am keen to hear from any­one who was in the area of the col­lege dur­ingth­eear­lyeveningon Sun­day who no­ticed any­thing un­usual or sus­pi­cious.

“At this stage weare­treat­ing this at­tack as an iso­lated in­ci­den­talthough­pa­trol­shave­been in­creased as a pre­cau­tion and I would ad­vise peo­ple to take the usual com­mon sense steps I would­ex­pect­them­to­ta­keev­ery day.

“We­con­tin­ue­towork­closely with the vic­tim to es­tab­lish all thede­tails of whathappened dur­ing the in­ci­dent.”
