Two left trapped after crash
The fire service rescued two people from their vehicle after it became stuck upside down in a water- filled Fenland dyke.
Firefighters from WisbechwerecalledtoBroadEnd Lane, Wisbech, onDecember 30, at 1.20pm, to reports of a vehicle stuck in water.
Twocrewmembers, wearing dry suits, entered the water and managed to free the twopeopletrappedinthecar.
Medics with the East of England Ambulance Service were also called to the scene.
Three casualties, including one who had managed to get out of the vehicle bythemselves, were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn where they were to undergo observation.
A spokesman for the ambulance service described their conditions as “very cold and shaken”.
The firefighters had returned to their station by 2.25pm.
