Two left trapped af­ter crash

The fire ser­vice rescued two peo­ple from their ve­hi­cle af­ter it be­came stuck up­side down in a water- filled Fen­land dyke.

Fire­fight­ers from Wis­bech­w­ere­called­toBroad­End Lane, Wis­bech, onDe­cem­ber 30, at 1.20pm, to re­ports of a ve­hi­cle stuck in water.

Twocre­wmem­bers, wear­ing dry suits, en­tered the water and man­aged to free the twopeo­ple­trappedinthe­car.

Medics with the East of Eng­land Am­bu­lance Ser­vice were also called to the scene.

Three ca­su­al­ties, in­clud­ing one who had man­aged to get out of the ve­hi­cle bythem­selves, were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospi­tal in King’s Lynn where they were to un­dergo ob­ser­va­tion.

A spokesman for the am­bu­lance ser­vice de­scribed their con­di­tions as “very cold and shaken”.

The fire­fight­ers had re­turned to their sta­tion by 2.25pm.
