Lo­cal le­gend Martin Adams is adamant he still pos­sesses the class to win an­other Lake­side World Cham­pi­onship.

Adams is gun­ning for a fourth ti­tle in the blue riband event of the BDO­side of the sport.

And he will roll i nto Frim­ley Green ahead of a first- round date with Dutch young­ster Jimmy Hen­driks on Sun­day in buoy­ant mood de­spite a year to for­get.

Adams, who suf­fered a se­ri­ous loss of form while deal­ing with per­sonal is­sues, said: “I think I still have the game to win the ti­tle. Pu­tit­thisway, I’mnot­go­ing down there to lose.

“Things have started to click for me in prac­tice in the last few days and I’m feel­ing con­fi­dent about my game again.

“I made a lit­tle change to what I’ve been do­ing and it seems to have worked well.

“It’s all about peak­ing at the right time ahead of a big tour­na­ment and hopefully I am do­ing that.

“I just want to go there and let my darts do the talk­ing.”
