New finance boss is appointed to help manage city hospital
A new director of finance has beenappointedatthePeterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Trust.
Caroline Walker will join the Trust on April 1. She is currently chief operating officerat Loughborough University. Prior to this she was director of finance and procurement at the university.
Her career in finance within the NHS dates back to 1982 andhas seen her workin a variety of organisations, including University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust, Barts and the London NHS Trust and Leicester Mental Health Services Unit.
She will take over from Chris Preston, who is leaving the Trust to relocate with his young family to Australia.
Dr Peter Reading, interim chief executive at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Caroline hasanexcellenttrack record in university and NHS finance.
“This is very good news for the Trust as we continue with our drive to make significant savings and work more efficiently while still maintaining the quality of care for our patients.”
