Stewart Jackson: “I’m not the PM’S number one fan’
Peterborough MP Stewart Jackson has told a national newsprogrammeheis“not the numberonefan” of PrimeMinister David Cameron.
Speaking onBBCRadioFive on Monday, along with Liberal Democrat MP Sir Menzies Campbell, MrJacksonsaidthat the PrimeMinister faced a “difficult balancing act” to win the 2015 general election.
Mr Jackson said: “The challenge the coalition faces is winning back the benefit of doubt from the voters.
“The last budget was generally not well received.
“However, politics is about continuing to re- affirm what you are doing and people need tothinkthatwehaveturnedthe corner.
“I’m not David Cameron’s number one fan and have criti- cised his policy ongaymarriage and Europe.
“The difficulty he has is that he has to work as part of a team making some tough decsions.
“Not only does he have to keep the coalition party going in 2015 but he also has to offer an alternative, attractive Conservative party.
“That is a very difficult balancing act.”
Back in December Mr JacksonhadlabelledDavidCameron “arrogant” for supporting the gay marriage bill.
