Dave Stratton has been named asthenewbossofUnitedCounties League Premier Division club Blackstones.
The former Yaxley centreforward has been handed his first managerial role at Lincoln Road.
Stratton was due to be introduced to the Stones players ahead of their derby clash against title- chasing Spalding last night.
Caretaker boss Gary Peace remained in charge for that match with Stratton taking over the reins for a home clash against Long Buckby on Saturday.
“I just wanted to get back into football,” said Stratton.
“I’ve been out of the game for acoupleofyearssincepacking up playing and felt it was time to get involved again.
“This is the first job I have applied for and luckily enough I got it.
“I will bring a fresh approach to the table and it is all about getting things right for next season.
“The only expectation the club have for this season is staying up and we’ll certainly do that.”
Stratton will be assisted by Ron Beech and has already put in a seven- day approach for a player whose identity he is keeping under wraps.
