ICA Sports boss Gino Agius believes increased competition for places has sparked his team’s winning run. An8- 1 drubbing of Whittlesey Blue Star last Saturday was a third successive win for the city team whohave climbed into the Premier Division top six. Agius said: “We’ve finally had a full squad available in recent weeks and that competition for places is fuelling performance. “Lads in the team are looking over their shoulders knowing they have to perform at the peak of their powers.” Jamie Martyn hit a hat- trick and Juliano Menezes struck twice for ICA. Dwayne Rankin, John Watson and substitute Danny Dance got the other goals as Blue Star were left just three points clear of the bottomtwo.
