Davide has learned a lot from watching hot Totti
NewPosh signing Davide Petrucci wants to bring a bit of Ryan Giggs and Francesco Totti to London Road.
The 21 year- old attacking midfielder completed the first loan move of his career yesterday when leaving Old Trafford for London Road.
Petrucci has signed for a month initially, but that deal will be extended if both parties are happy that the move is working out.
TheItalianwasayoungplayer at Roma who idolised club legend Totti before moving to England four years ago.
Petrucci said: “I heardabout this move a little while ago and the more I thought about it the more I wanted to come.
“I’ve never been on loan before, but it’s a chance for me to develop my career so I’m very happy to be here.
“I wasexcited whenImoved to Manchester United because I was joining one of the biggest clubs in the world,
“I started well there, but I sufferedabadinjurywhichkept me out for two years.
“I camebackwelllastseason though and now I am ready to kick on again.
“I hope I can do well for Peterborough andusewhatIhave learned at my other clubs.
“You can pick up things just by watching players like my hero Totti closely and the help I havereceivedfromplayerslike Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs has been very useful.
“I am still learning and I hopetheexperiencedplayersat Peterboroughwillalsohelpme.
“I can’t wait to get started though.”
Petrucci is happy that Scott Wootton has come down fromManchester with him.
Petrucciadded:“Wearevery good friends. We live together andIteachhimItalian, whilehe teaches me Scouse!”
Posh boss Darren Ferguson is delighted to have Petrucci at London Road.
Ferguson said: “Davide is a very good footballer.
“He can play anywhere in midfield, he can play off the front and he could play in a sitting midfield role.
“He is a very talented boy and we just have to find the right position for him.
“This is Davide’s first loan which is why it is only for a month at first. If things work out well for both parties I’m sure we will extend it.”
