Sladok will get his skates off to be­come a boxer

Phan­toms star Jozef Sladok looks set for a sport­ing ca­reer change af­ter re­veal­ing he wants to be­come­aboxer.

The Slo­vakian sees his long- term fu­ture in the ring rather than on the ice and has penned a deal with box­ing man­age­ment com­pany Long­shots Sports.

Sladok ( above) will now ap­ply for a pro­fes­sional li­cence and could be ready to launch his box­ing ca­reer within months. The25yearold­hasear­markeda­planned bill in Peter­bor­ough in May as a start­ing point.

Sladok said: “Right now it is Jan­uary and I am still very much­fo­cused on­be­ing ahock­ey­player, bu­tit hasal­ways­been­my­dream­to­move into box­ing.

“Ob­vi­ously I still need to pass the med­i­cals and get a li­cence, but I would def­i­nitely like to start my box­ing ca­reer in the sum­mer. The show in Peter­bor­ough would be a great place to start. Hopefully the hockey fans would sup­port me.”

Phan­tom­sy­oung­sterJor­danCown­iehas­been­named in theGreatBri­tainUn­der18 squad for the World Cham­pi­onships in March.
