A friends’ night out set in mo­tion a tragic chain of events that led to the deaths of three men, an in­quest heard. Roy Al­li­son Jnr en­joyed ‘ a good time’ but later died of a drug over­dose. His griev­ing fa­ther, Roy Snr, blamed his son’s friend Dun­can Bell and took a bru­tal re­venge – killing Mr Bell be­fore hang­ing him­self.

The grief- stricken fa­ther re­vealed the full hor­ror of his bloody plot in a let­ter to the ed­i­tor of the Peter­bor­ough Tele­graph.
