Pub­lic in­vited to at­tend fu­neral

The fu­neral ser­vice for leg­endary city dance teacher Dereck Brown, who passed away aged 88, will be held at Peter­bor­ough Cathe­dral.

It has been re­vealed in the past week that the pub­lic can at­tend the ser­vice on Fri­day, Au­gust 12 which will be con­ducted by the Rev­erend Can- on Tim Al­ban Jones start­ing at 11.45am.

The ser­vice will end at ap­prox­i­mately 12.30pm and­will be fol­lowed by a short pri­vate com­mit­tal for the im­me­di­ate fam­ily nearby.

A re­cep­tion, to which all at­tend­ing are most wel­come, will be held at the Park- way Sports & So­cial Club, Maskew Av­enue, PE1 2AS, from 12.30pm on­wards.

The fam­ily ask for no flow­ers, but­do­na­tion­sto­ward­s­the up­keep of the cathe­dral will be warmly re­ceived and will pro­vide a per­ma­nent legacy for Dereck and his life in Peter­bor­ough.
